The Genesis Research Foundation
is a charitable, non-profit organization whose mission is
to fund research and promote education and awareness in women’s
health in the areas of obstetrics and gynaecology, including
reproductive cancers, reproductive biology and maternal-fetal
medicine.
Established in 1983 by a group of 80 medical
doctors, Genesis remains, for over twenty years, a pioneer
in education and research for neglected areas of women’s
health care.
The Foundation raises funds through donations
from individuals, corporations, foundations and special events.
Genesis is governed by a Board of Volunteer Trustees representing
many sectors of the community including: medical, financial,
corporate, communications, fundraising and education.
The Genesis Research
Foundation has established a cooperative enterprise with five
major hospitals: Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Women’s
College Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital, Mount Sinai
Hospital and The University Health Network. Genesis also works
in partnership with the University of Toronto, Faculty of
Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology which allows
Genesis access to one of the largest clinical and educational
bases in North America.
