Beverly Allen was appointed Executive
Director of the Genesis Research Foundation in February
of 1998.
After an extensive career in the
corporate retail sector, with bases as diverse as
Denver, Montreal and Toronto and her international
buying experience with The Hudson’s Bay Company,
Dylex and The May Company (U.S.) she has devoted her
highly developed business background, organizational
skills and communication strengths to the medical
and philanthropic communities and the Genesis Research
Foundation as Executive Director.
She is an active member of the Association
of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Certified Fund
Raising Executive International (CFRE) and the Canadian
Association of Gift Planners (CAGP). Her affiliations,
memberships and volunteer experiences are numerous
and extensive in Canada and the United States.
Ms. Allen has a Bachelor of Arts
degree from the University of Southern Mississippi
and the University of Denver with postgraduate studies
in Business Administration from McGill University
(Montreal).
Beverly has been awarded the
esteemed international professional designation of
Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and has met
a series of standards and a written examination set
by CFRE International which includes tenure in the
fund raising profession, heightened educational and
professional achievements and a dedicated commitment
to service for not-for-profit organizations. She joins
a selected group of only 4,800 other CFREs worldwide
and has agreed to uphold the Accountability Standards,
Code of Ethical Principals and Standards of Professional
Practice and the Donor Bill of Rights.
