Christine Derzko, M.D., FRCSC

Dr. Christine Derzko graduated as
an M.D. from the University of Toronto in 1967 and,
after specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology,
became an FRCSC in 1975. Post fellowship training
at the University of Toronto and U.C.L.A. has led
to her current role as Associate Professor at the
University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine (Department
of Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and as a member of
the Reproductive Biology Division. She has been on
the active staff at St. Michael's Hospital since 1976
and since 1986 has headed the hospital's Division
of Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility & Menopause.
Dr. Derzko is a consultant for the
Princess Margaret Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant
Service Unit. A member of the Bone & Mineral Group,
University of Toronto (Osteoporosis Research and Treatment),
she also serves on the Executive Committee, OMA Section
of Reproductive Biology. She is the recipient of the
Colin Woolf Award for CME (1995-96), Faculty of Medicine,
University of Toronto and the 1997-98 University of
Toronto Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Undergraduate
Teaching Award for St. Michael's Hospital.
As the author of over 30 publications,
Dr. Derzko is much in demand as a nationally recognized
and respected speaker, lecturer and television presenter
on topics concerning women's health in areas such
as menopause, hormone replacement therapy, women and
cardiovascular disease, HRT and breast cancer. She
is a member of numerous advisory boards, panels and
committees and serves on the Editorial Board of several
journals. Dr. Derzko is a member of the Board of Trustees
of the Genesis Research Foundation.
