Grocery
shopping has become a brave new world for consumers.
Consequently, making healthy food choices is
becoming more and more difficult. The morning’s
speakers presented the most recent medical research
and information with respect to concerns surrounding
fad diets and unhealthy weight issues - obesity
- and the resulting risks of diabetes, heart
disease, stroke, osteoporosis and high blood
pressure.

The
Genesis Research Foundation was host to the 14th
Annual Genesis Awareness Breakfast on October 7,
2004 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Concert Hall
with approximately 400 guests in attendance.
The
Medical Focus of “Women’s Health
and Nutrition: Food for Thought” was
presented by Guest Speaker, Anne Lindsay
and Keynote Speaker, Dr. Robert Josse,
St Michael’s Hospital.
Dr.
Jennifer Blake, Sunnybrook and Women’s
College Hospital and Dr. Alan Bocking,
Mt. Sinai Hospital, served as moderators for the morning’s
presentations.
The
Breakfast would not be possible without the support
from our Corporate Sponsors, Donors, Volunteers and
Breakfast Committee Members, and we wish to acknowledge
the generous donations and the dedicated volunteer hours
which have been made to Genesis so that we may bring
important medical information about women’s health
to our guests on an annual basis.
