May 22, 2003, Genesis was host to a 20th Anniversary
Cocktail Reception at the Residence of the President
of the University of Toronto, 93 Highland Avenue.
Honorary
Event Chair, Mary Catherine Birgeneau,
welcomed over 130 guests to her elegant home to celebrate
the Genesis Research Foundation's two decades of funding
research and education in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Special
guests included: The Honourable Barbara J. McDougall,
Honorary Genesis Patron; Dr. Colin D'Cunha,
Commissioner of Public Health, Chief Medical Officer
of Health and Assistant Deputy Minister; Dr.
David Naylor, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University
of Toronto.
Genesis
Tribute awards were presented to Annan &
Sons Lithographers and George Weston
Ltd. for their generous ongoing support of
Genesis and women's health.
A special
recognition award was presented to Dr. Knox
Ritchie for his outstanding leadership as Genesis
Chair from 1992 to 2003. Dr. Ritchie welcomed newly
elected Genesis Chair, Dr. Alan Bocking,
Professor & Chair, Department of Obstetrics &
Gynaecology, University of Toronto and Obstetrician
& Gynaecologist-In-Chief at Mount Sinai Hospital
and The University Health Network. |
